The VCE Punjabi oral exam is a 12–15 minute one-on-one conversation with a VCAA-appointed examiner. Here's how to prepare and what to expect.
⭐ The examiner wants you to succeed. They are not trying to trick you. Their job is to give you opportunities to demonstrate your Punjabi — take every opportunity they offer.

Top Tips from Past Students
Speak at home daily from Term 2. If you only speak Punjabi at your oral classes, you won't be fluent enough by September. Daily conversation — even 10 minutes with a family member — makes a huge difference.
Don't translate from English in your head. Think in Punjabi. If you don't know a word, describe it or use a related word — don't freeze.
Record yourself. Practise answering sample questions and record it on your phone. Listen back — you'll notice pauses, repeated words, and grammar errors you can't hear in real time.
